“We pray for each other, ask God to help us walk through different seasons of our lives and include outside prayer requests,” Cleone says. More importantly, the exchange provided Cleone with the idea of starting daily family devotionals with her daughters and her husband using the Bible app. She immediately reminded Boston about her faith and her trust in God. But Cleone did not teach her daughters to have a spirit of fear. feeling afraid due to the uncertainty of the unprecedented times. One restless night after the SEC tournament, she called her mother around 3 a.m. As the pandemic swept through the country and Black Lives Matter protests took center stage following the police killing of George Floyd, Boston could not grasp the full magnitude of what was happening. She also played on the 2018 U-17 USA team that won a gold medal and was named a McDonald’s High School All-American and Jordan Brand Classic participant.Īway from the hardwood, though, Boston was feeling the effects from issues taking place in society. She became the school’s all-time leading scorer, led it to two consecutive New England Prep School Athletic Council Class AA championships and became a three-time Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year. At Worcester Academy, coached by Sherry Levin, Boston changed the program forever. On the hardwood, it did not take Boston a long time to adjust. “It also made me grow up faster than if I would have still been staying with my parents because they could have helped me with certain stuff.” “She definitely made us do our chores,” Boston says of Hodge. But more than anything, Boston gained a much greater value in responsibility from the experience. Occasionally, while working a busy schedule in the fast-food industry, she cooked some of Boston’s favorite foods like curry chicken, oxtails, fried plantains and potato stuffing. Plus, you have to admire DiCicco for taking that “What if?” game and making it real.ĭiCicco plans to release StarDrive 2 early this year for $30.Hodge immediately made sacrifices for both Boston and Alexis to feel at home, all while taking care of her own daughter. But I went into StarDrive 2 expecting to be completely run over by its complexity, and instead I found it accessible, if a bit frustrating for new players. I haven't had my hands on StarDrive 2's preview build for very long, so whether or not the experience holds up or gets easier over multiple playthroughs is still to be seen. The lack of multiplayer is disappointing, but there is so much in it already that it’s hard to really be upset by the omission. The sheer number of things you can do in StarDrive 2 is phenomenal, especially considering DiCicco is creating it practically on his own. Battle Arena feels completely separate from the 4X conquest of StarDrive 2’s main mode, and will hopefully be expanded upon in some of developer Zer0sum Games’ post-launch updates. You are given a budget to spend on buying and customizing your ships at the start, and the money, experience, and losses you incur along the way carry over to the next mission. Battle Arena is a series of fights tied together with a story through dialogues before each mission. Outside of the main single-player mode-which creator Dan DiCicco tells me should take roughly 6-10 hours-StarDrive 2 has no multiplayer, but does feature an alternate mode called Battle Arena. The combat requires a ton of strategy, and I get the feeling the computer knows it better than I do.
